When the time arose to completely remodel our kitchen, we knew right off that the lighting is a big issue and must be included in the plans. The kitchen is opened up to the living room which made the lighting a huge issue. Upon completion, the recessed lighting obtained task lighting levels on the counter tops and the island bar. The traditional mounted fluorescent fixtures were no longer needed. Since the kitchen and breakfast nook is the most commonly occupied part of our home by the family, the lighting was critical to the comfort and function level of the kitchen.
Our family are thrilled by the drama and dimension the new lighting has provided. Even the creation of shadowing objects while adding texture to vertical surfaces. The home decor ideas that has enhanced our home in a big way were mostly found on line at budget prices. Some of our personal choices of supplies were allowed in the contract of our new kitchen and were deducted from the total cost. Now the finished product is enjoyed by all immensely, and you can only imagine where I spend most of my waking hours.
