Improving the lighting on the desk and computer work place became a project for me after viewing large variations at the mall.  It was my last shopping trip that made me realize the improvement I could make at home.  The armed desk lamp impressed me the most because of the movable arms that directs light where needed.  They are specifically designed to illuminate a smaller area more intensely for desks or workplace areas.  I like the idea of mounting them to a wall and can be hard-wired or plugged in and have decorative cord covers to match it’s finish.  They are also great for bedside lamps without taking up space.

I decided to check them out on line and discovered huge styles and colors to blend well with the home decor.  Prices varied of course,  but all were priced reasonable and also at discount offerings.  My husband was thrilled with my choices and the improved lighting during tasks.  I also chose two lamps for our bed stands that we use when reading.  They also make fantastic gifts that can become cherished collectibles,  and beautiful decorative accessories.

When the time arose to completely remodel our kitchen,  we knew right off that the lighting is a big issue and must be included in the plans.  The kitchen is opened up to the living room which made the lighting a huge issue.  Upon completion,  the recessed lighting obtained task lighting levels on the counter tops and the island bar.  The traditional mounted fluorescent fixtures were no longer needed.  Since the kitchen and breakfast nook is the most commonly occupied part of our home by the family,  the lighting was critical to the comfort and function level of the kitchen.

Our family are thrilled by the drama and dimension the new lighting has provided.  Even the creation of shadowing objects while adding texture to vertical surfaces.  The home decor ideas that has enhanced our home in a big way were mostly found on line at budget prices.  Some of our personal choices of supplies were allowed in the contract of our new kitchen and were deducted from the total cost.  Now the finished product is enjoyed by all immensely,  and you can only imagine where I spend most of my waking hours.

When we realized our home lacked proper lighting,  we decided to make a few changes to add beauty,  warmth and security.  Chandelier hunting,  I thought,  would be easy,  but it turned out the opposite.  The dining room,  living room and foyer are places we started.  After going on line we found so many styles to choose from and also costs.  The dining was the most popular choice because of the beautiful centerpiece they provide.  The dimmer switch creates ample light and moods for evening meals and ample light for projects.

We’re grateful for the high ceilings because chandeliers should be placed higher than 7 feet above the floor for maximum safety.  We are so satisfied with our choices.  The home decor accents they provide is unbelievable.  Our family and friends are overwhelmed with the improvement in ambiance the magic of lighting has given to our home.

Many subtle changes were made over the last few years to the outside of our home and garden.  Gradually we incorporated various outdoor and landscape lighting throughout.  It provided drama and beauty to our property in many ways,  plus a sense of pride.  The impact of these changes give our home a new look at night and increased time our family can spend outdoors.  All of the outside ambiance was achieved on line where we found the prices reasonable and the ideas extensive that helped us with practical lay out plans.

We recently purchased a classic arcade game on line.  They are the real authentic arcade game we played at the mall growing up.  The games are pre-installed and all we needed to do was plug it in,  turn it on to start playing.  All game machines come with 160gig hard drive and is used with Windows xp operating system,  so,  any Window games you find at your local computer store can be played on the system.

We chose the 19″ LCD monitor on the ClassicCadeCocktail.  Technology has improved substantially in recent years so the games look better than they did in the 80’s.  They are sharper.  Our family have so much fun with these games and it seems someone is playing constantly.  The arcade set is very attractive in the game room and fits in perfectly with our home decor ideas.  Birthday and holiday shopping  is so easy by adding a new Windows game to the list.

It’s okay to be lazy,  especially in your living room.  We found a large selection of affordable premium quality recliners that are designed for maximum comfort on several on line sites.  Our choice was a over-sized recliner and has proven to be a great pick.  Larger folks,  the medium built and young,  found unbelievable comfort to the point of not wanting to give up the recliner.  The chosen fabric added to our home decor accents.  The options offered made it easy to choose a tailored chair specifically for our needs.

Our recliner is used as a normal sofa that provides a mini bed in the living room.  It felt the same as lying on a sofa while enjoying an evening of favorite TV shows.  It certainly is a dream come true for us all!  Our decision to purchase another for the family room was made because of never wanting to sit on our old couch ever again.  We were able to stay within our budget that made our heavenly experience more enjoyable.

We were looking for a good massage chair for sometime now and finally found one that suits our needs on line.  Our jobs,  as many other people,  is draining by the end of the work day.  A good massage can do wonders for relieving tension and back pain,  but our electronic substitute is always available vs a massage therapist and provides the same benefit.  After a long day there is nothing better than a tension relieving massage from our massage chair.  Even our home decor ideas have complimented the area of the massage chair.

What sold us on owning a massage chair after our investigation,  was the long time savings of not having to use a massage therapist.  It eases our stress and everyday pain,  increases endorphin levels,  and improves flexibility.  It is used in the comfort of our home or office,  less expensive and is always there when you need to use it.  With all these benefits our chair has improved our quality of living.

Rocking chairs are perfect for the nursery,  living room or family room and is essential with new babies or young children,  or for those who enjoy peaceful relaxation.  We also have a glider  rocker and both were obtained on line.  Glider rockers have found their places in every living room,  patio,  and nursery.  They’re perfect as a place to sit with loved ones,  read a book,  or sip a cup of tea and watch the sun dip down over the horizon.  Sometimes the soothing motion is hardwired into our brain.

Our glider rocking chair is in the living room and is of cherry finish that tastefully compliments our home decor accents.  It has cushioned back,  curved and padded armrests and spindled side panels that is a striking addition to any home.  I know our glider rocker will bring pleasure to our family for years.  To further enhance our experience we added an ottoman and side table.  Anyone who lacks a glider rocker in their home is missing a major life experience in my opinion.  They’re readily available to all.

Going on a futon hunt was a first for us.  We decided that we needed to purchase something that would accommodate over night guests.  Also,  the space saving features was a plus for our limited home space as the futon-sleeper can be a sofa by day, bed by night.  They are versatile with many different styles and colors to choose from,  yet ideal for over night guests or a primary bed anywhere in our home.  We were able to aquire ours very quickly on line and at a reasonable price.  There are many steps to know about in purchasing a futon and the seller is very reliable in guiding us through to assure it was the right choice for our home.

Our family and guests are so happy with our new futon and I especially love how it enhances our home decor.  It will also take up less room than a sofa-sleeper and weighs much less so it will be easier to move as needed.  In its sofa position it takes up less space than a bed during the day,  but converts easily into a bed at night.  I wish we owned a futon long ago,  but what counts is we do now!
